Pickit2

My original Pickit 2.......Yahooooo

Hello folks,

Today is a very liberating day for me , after many unsuccessful attempts at making a Pickit 2 clone I finally decided to buy an original one from Microchip and today I received it. From now on i can work on PIC without having the fear that anytime my PIC programmer may fail.

In total I gave 3 tries,

First one was
It worked nearly for 1 week and then stopped working, the problem was oxidation of tracks.

Next was created on veroboard with some minor enhancements to previous circuit. The advancements were use mosfets instead of transistors...

it worked like a charm for 2-3 weeks ,then suddenly it started to show problems like"USB not recognized".

And finally i tried something offtrack ,an open source PIC
programmer PicProg
This was the final one.It worked for 18F series but didn't responded well for others.

After going all through this , I decided to spend some more bucks and get the original one directly from Microchip.

Normally here in India a clone ,without the "programmer to go" function, costs nearly about 1500 rupees. I grabbed the original one with all the functionality for 2780/- rupees ($ 49.74) including everything from the Microchip.

Ya its bit heavy for me (cost wise) but now I can Rest In Peace.
